To become a Ford Fleet Account you must register for a Fleet Identification Number (FIN Code). You will also be asked to provide proof of eligibility documentation for the vehicles in your fleet.


FIN Code eligibility requirements are listed by category below.




  • Commercial
    A company that purchases or leases vehicles for use in conducting their day-to-day business.

    • The commercial end-user should have a minimum of 5 vehicles (cars and/or trucks of any make) in service after its present acquisition, or, place an order for (and subsequently takes delivery of) 3 or more Ford or Lincoln vehicles at one time.

      All vehicles used to qualify for the Ford FIN must be currently registered/licensed in the commercial end-user's company name and operated within Canada. If the applicant is a farm operating under an individual’s name, all vehicles must be registered/licensed as farm vehicles and the applicant will also be required to provide GST exemption documentation. Copies of registration/license information must be provided.

      Eligible motor vehicles include only those that would normally be used in the day-to-day operations of the business. Ineligible vehicles include (but are not limited to) vintage vehicles, farm equipment, motorcycles, snowmobiles, A.T.V.s, motor homes, trailers, and construction equipment.

    • Unless otherwise stated in an individual program announcement, all vehicles (purchased or leased) must be operated and remain licensed and registered in CANADA to the original end-user for a minimum period of 6 months AND a minimum use of 15,000 kilometers from the original delivery date or first use, whichever occurs first.
  • Fleet Management Companies (Independent Leasing Companies)
    A company that purchases vehicles to lease out to Ford Motor Company End User customers. A separate FIN for the end-user customer is required at time of vehicle order.

    • Independent Leasing Companies that have been provided a FIN are authorized to purchase for subsequent lease to fleet customers. Independent Leasing Companies without a valid FIN are NOT authorized to purchase vehicles on behalf of qualified fleet customers.

      Independent Leasing Companies applying for a FIN must submit proof of five or more vehicles (no more than 8 model years old) registered/licensed to the Fleet Management Company.

      Note: Fleet Management Company FINs cannot be used as end-user FINs.
    • Unless otherwise stated in an individual program announcement, all vehicles (purchased or leased) must be operated and remain licensed and registered in CANADA to the original end-user for a minimum period of 6 months AND a minimum use of 15,000 kilometers from the original delivery date or first use, whichever occurs first.
  • Rental Companies (Independent and Dealer Rental Companies)
    A company that rents vehicles by day, week or month to the general public.

    • Eligibility Requirements

    • The Rental Company must have a minimum of 5 vehicles (cars and/or trucks of any make) in service after its present acquisition, or place an order for (and subsequently takes delivery of) 3 or more Ford vehicles at one time.

      Rental Company must provide a copy of their Franchise Agreement if applicable.

      Rental Operator must complete and sign a FIN application form (available from Fleet Headquarters). Fleet Headquarters:1 800 668 5515

      Important Note: Rental Incentives are provided for Daily Rental Use only. Lease contracts cannot use rental incentives. Lease contracts must utilize incentives provided to the enduser (the lessee).
    • Unless otherwise stated in an individual program announcement, all vehicles (purchased or leased) must be operated and remain licensed and registered in CANADA to the original end-user for a minimum period of 6 months AND a minimum use of 15,000 kilometers from the original delivery date or first use, whichever occurs first.
  • Government Entities

    • Government entities typically eligible for a government FIN are defined as: Federal Government; Provincial Government; Municipal/Regional Government; School Boards/Districts; Public Utilities; First Nations; Foreign Government Agencies operating within Canada (consulates); or other wholly tax supported and government controlled Institutions

      Government entities NOT eligible for a government FIN include, but are not limited to: Privately owned utilities; Crown Corporations which compete with private organizations; Universities; Colleges; Private Schools; Lotteries; Private non-profit organizations; Government/First Nation owned/controlled commercial entities.
