2021 Chassis Cab

DURABILITY

DURABILITY OVER THE LONG HAUL

The Ford Super Duty® is the toughest, hardest-working generation of Class 3-5 chassis cab we’ve ever built. We started by cutting body weight with high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy that’s lighter than steel yet incredibly strong. We then invested some of that weight savings where it really counts — in stronger axles, chassis and steering components. Plus, we built the fully boxed under-cab and C-channel aft-of-cab frame of high-strength steel. That means hauling and towing capability you can depend on to deliver every workday.

HIGH-STRENGTH, MILITARY-GRADE, ALUMINUM-ALLOY BODY

The 2021 Ford Super Duty® Chassis Cab features a high-strength, military-grade60 aluminum-alloy body. It’s lighter than the previous generation steel, yet immensely strong. It’s also more dent and ding resistant and not subject to red rust corrosion. Beneath the aluminum body is a fully boxed under-cab and C-channel aft-of-cab frame built of high-strength steel.

BUILT FORD TOUGH®

Built Ford Tough® isn't just a slogan. Success on this high level is achieved by never letting up. One example: Super Duty® is the toughest Super Duty® body ever, with a high-strength, military-grade60 , aluminum-alloy body and a frame made of high-strength steel.
Tough and durable brakes

TOUGH, HEFTY BRAKES

The components of the four-wheel anti-lock brakes in today’s generation of F-450/F-550 models are larger than before, with the largest rotors in their class* — and for two important reasons. You want them to provide the sure stopping power you expect when you’re out on the job hauling tons of equipment or cargo. You want them to last because having to replace brakes too often can be a drag on your bottom line.
*Class is 3-5 Conventional Chassis Cabs.

ENGINEERED FOR THE EXTREMES

The latest generation of the Ford Super Duty® was subjected to more than 32 million kilometres of testing, under real and simulated conditions, at temperatures from -29 to 49 degrees Celsius. Powertrain tests replicated going up a six-degree grade over 800 kilometres. Super Duty was also subjected to four-post frame twists, gravel, dust, water, brine, mud baths and even intentionally tested with worn or broken parts. Such extreme conditions often went far beyond what you would likely encounter on your toughest of jobs.
