MORE THAN 32 MILLION KILOMETRES OF TESTING

The latest generation of the Ford Super Duty® was subjected to more than 32 million kilometres (20 million miles) of testing, under real and simulated conditions, at temperatures from -28 to 48 degrees Celsius. Powertrain tests replicated going up a 6% grade over 804 kilometres (500 miles). Super Duty was also subjected to four-post frame twists, gravel, dust, water, brine, mud baths and even intentionally tested with worn or broken parts. Such extreme conditions often went far beyond what you would likely encounter on your toughest of jobs.

The Super Duty® has the only high-strength, military-grade60 , aluminum-alloy body in its class. * Aluminum alloy is substantially lighter than the previous body60, yet it’s remarkably strong. It’s also more dent-and-ding resistant and not subject to red rust corrosion. Use of aluminum alloy allowed some of the weight savings to be reinvested where it matters the most, especially in the frame that’s the foundation of strength and toughness.

FULLY BOXED HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL FRAME

The fully boxed frame, built of high-strength steel with up to 10 crossmembers, is 24 times stiffer than the previous design. The frame is designed to minimize flexing and twisting while maximizing strength and torsional rigidity, and it serves as the foundation for the impressive towing and hauling capability of the Super Duty®.

LARGEST BRAKES IN ITS CLASS (F-450)

The components of the four-wheel anti-lock brakes in the F-450 model are the largest in their class* — and for a very important reason. You want them to provide the sure-stopping power you expect when you’re out on the job hauling tons of whatever it is that’s riding along with you behind the cab.

AVAILABLE CARPET DELETE

To help you protect the inside of your Super Duty® cab, vinyl flooring is standard on XL and available on XLT, King Ranch™, Platinum and Limited models. Or you can opt to protect your carpeting with available all-weather, heavy-duty vinyl floor mats designed with deep and raised ridges to catch and hold snow, slush or mud. For pickup bed protection, custom-designed, heavy-duty rubber mats are available. Or go with Tough Bed® — a factory-installed spray-in bedliner providing a watertight seal. Tough Bed includes a tailgate guard, black bed tie-down hooks and bed attachment bolts.
